catalyst for change has arrived once more

dreams are born out of the sorrow of darkness

and as before bare the light hidden within the chamber of the soul

three thirty AM

and I awake with no surprise at the time

I search for the bridge back into my dreams

and as I try sleep alludes me

with her trance I am finally

to a white world which brings forth the day.

The white world which is our permanent realm throughout these months of winter

my son asks me when the summer will come.

Are our hours to be judged upon the thoughts ruminated within time tinted white?

You do not want to speak and I cannot know your thoughts

so what else but your expressions am I to judge?

In the final hours

of the shortest day

joy seeps like water through a sieve

remaining is the lonely state

to which we are tied in birth and death

separable to all but ourselves.

unfolds invisible folds around you

in the cloak the daggers stowed

do you see the shadow cast beneath your own two feet?

it is something I have grown to know well

to predict

and though I suffer from your constant doubt

I have learned to separate myself from this shroud

that has a life of its own a pulse of its own

beating in the blackness of night

and receding as quickly and illusively as it came

you play now a game of twos and let me tell you

I will happily step to the side

as you stride by

playing a doomsday duet

while I cast my eyes at the sky

to see the rising of the sun

and even in the moon

I feel my potential

grow

and you can try to shake me

but you will be holding onto the trunk

of a mighty oak

and you can try to cut me down with poisonous words

but you will only fortify my wood

flail your arms amidst your tempest if it pleases you

but don’t expect that I will enter into that floorless room

by your side.

I choose no sides and have nothing beside me

so that I can stretch to my fullest and feel the taste of air that is free.

my waking is adulterated by strange symphonies

what world is this which I am opening my eyes to?

The first light of spring

the first unfolding unfurling

of a snow white bud

as each tendril of sunlight winds

herself through the blinds of my eyelids

an excited bride

a newborn baby

the first flight

to somewhere

meeting my world face to face

how could I not want to tame her

into my own vision

and she shows me

her utter rebellion

and we laugh at one another

and the irony

of it all.

the buried vestiges of our yesterdays

worn soles dug from last years winter clothes

in bins

in basements

we scurry

frenzied suddenly

and awoken at once

by the cold

we have no longer become used to

the Earth freezes all of its bounty

so that in the Spring she can release us from our hibernation

as she liberates the tiny buds and new growth

which have been protected so long in this winter’s icy shell

for now we stare at vast horizons of white and watch as pink sunrises

bring the dragon’s breath off the frozen bay

we sleep in cocoons of one another’s arms

and bear it as teammates

so rugged for the last push

until we can claim the color green

to our eyes

once more.

with their airs they broadcast

nothing

but their utter lack of creativity

they fight freedom in its name

with indignity

they hang the spirit of our souls like a dirty rag upon their sharpened swords

pushing forward in the dark as we blindly let them penetrate us

rapists of out thoughts

gray faced power

killing in the name of….

and they would have us all in prison cells

to satisfy their capitalist ideals

they want to wash your mind clean

it’s dirty like the body your should hide in shame

unless it is shown for profit

with silicone and botox

hairless like a fat turkey ready for our proverbial feast

for our amusement

censored

but only by the eyes of the wretched

thought police

we let them in

now we have to destroy them

this infestation of life-sapping putrid pukes

are keeping us in the grip of their manipulation

bite the hand that holds you

free yourself

so that your mind can grow

past the ignorance which they would have you believe is your full potential!

your thought dances across the tendrils and fibers sprouting from my tender skin

with plummeting earnestness you seize the breath I have yet to sing

for the night in which we intertwine ourselves

amongst memories fine and wretched

honestly bare

before one another

like altars

to the new year

and we seek the precious sleep

which follows from

the rivers intersection

of ourselves

where all future flows

Northward

like the Nile

in its mystery

the faith of future

bound

and revealed

as days open and close we marvel

and rejoice.

Time unfolds the outer petals of a rose.

In the frigid beauty there is pain

untouchable moments run through us as tiny particles

reminding us of our smallness.

My heart is full and yet hollow.

I want to travel across this vast field of white

I want to cross space in your arms

while time evolves in distances beyond us.

People continue their lives

in ways and days they reveal

that most do not wish to notice

the minute

I still know the girl inside me

who questions wide eyed her universe

I am awake at a dawn whose horizon is touching the minds of the sleeping masses

these words we exchange create synesthesia

or kinesthetic empathy perhaps

for the harmony

evolves

beyond our natural rhythm

invisible faces disappear into the night

without remembering we will forget

ourselves

without fighting for the truth

the lies will overshadow

selfish men poison

the shadows

the soul leaves the body long before the body dies

in such times

the corruption of humanity is complete

these bottom feeders will be wiped clean

by our boots

we will crush the faces

of these bottom feeding leaches

all daughters who have been stolen to the night

are worth every ounce of blood we might lose in this fight.
